about
Rachael O’Sullivan
Early Intervention Specialist | Key Worker
Hi, I’m Rachael, the founder of play.connect.thrive
play.connect.thrive is a culmination of both my professional experiences and my passion for working with children with disability or developmental delay, and their families. I believe deeply in the importance of early intervention and have seen the positive impact it can have on the lives of children and their families.
I started my career in Early Intervention in 2016 when I began working in an Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) for Education Queensland and have extensive experience teaching and providing intervention to children with disability and/or developmental delay. My experience spans working collaboratively in a transdisciplinary way by working together with all of the child and families’ stakeholders, and in including the family in the decision-making process. My varied skills and experiences place me well to support children with complex needs, their families and other important adults in their lives, facing challenges on multiple levels.
My intervention approach takes a family-centred, play-based focus, building on a child’s strengths and interests.
The three words in my business name
- play.connect.thrive -
sum up my philosophy simply and perfectly.
I believe that through play, and meeting a child where they are at, connections are made, growth can take place,
and children are able to thrive.
